Susan Yondt
Susan Yondt was born in Buffalo, New York and began her piano studies
at seven years of age. In her teens, she studied with concert pianist Frieda Manes.
Her degrees include the “Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance” from the State University
of New York at Buffalo, where she studied with piano professor Stephen Manes;
and the “Master of Music”, Cum laude, from the University of Louisville, Kentucky,
under the teaching of piano professor Lee Luvisi.
Susan moved to Sweden in 1979 where she has played many concerts there including the
Stockholm Konserthus, Nordic Music Festival, Uppsala University,
Nybrokajen 11 in Stockholm, Salsta Castle, Music at Siljan Festival, Uppsala Castle,
Oeland Summer Concert Series and many church concerts.
She plays concerts every year in the United States, mostly solo recitals.
Susan has performed concerti with orchestras in many cities in Sweden.
She accompanies soloists and choirs and plays chamber music frequently and has performed
various programs on European radio and television. Upcoming programs include
Tschaikovsky’s Seasons with photography by Juliana Yondt, Nordic piano music and Chopin
and Schumann recitals.
As well as being a free-lance artist, Susan Yondt teaches piano, accompanying,
choir and chamber music. Her teaching experience includes University of Louisville
Kentucky, Uppsala University, Stockholm Musikpedagogiska Institute, and several
Community Music Schools in Sweden.
She is inspired by working with music for all ages.
CD recordings include “Presenting Amy Beach”, “Beloved Music of Chopin”
and her latest recording “Mozart; 250 years”.
